Chart & Timeframe Settings

**Timeframe: ** We recommend running the bot on a chart set to the M15 timeframe, however the bot will technically run on any timeframe. Trader should be mindful that when using a higher timeframe chart, and "one trade per candle" setting that it might cause the bot to trade less often.

Chart:

The bot should only be attached to one chart. The bot can recover different symbols from one chart.
The chart symbol of which the bot is attached to does not matter.

What Are Recovery Orders?

Forex Recovery Bot uses a grid style trading system to generate profit. The bot then uses a smart algorithm to close smaller parts of your total losing order volume using the profit, thus offsetting the loss. The bot repeats the process by closing smaller chunks of the total losing trade until it has been completely recovered.

Recovery Order Settings Inputs

Behind the recovery order settings are these inputs:

Grid Step: The predetermined price movement increment at which additional orders are placed. For example, if we set grid step to 20 pips then each time price moves 20 pips against the previous order, the bot will add a new trade to the grid.

Grid Step Multiplier: A multiplier which can be added to the grid step, to add extra distance between orders. For example, if we set grid step to 20 pips and grid step multiplier to 1.5, then the distance of the first order will be 20 pips. Second order distance 30 pips. Third order distance 45 pips, etc.

One Trade Per Candle: When enabled the bot will only be allowed to open one trade per candle, even if our grid step settings above would allow the bot to open multiple orders on the same candle.

Starting Lot Size Chart Based On Account Equity

Below you can find a chart showing the lot sizes which we have used in our usage of the bot. These can serve as guidelines in helping you determine appropriate lot size settings for your situation.

These recommendations assume a trading account with 1:500 leverage
For accounts with lower leverage, we strongly recommend using the minimum starting lot size
The starting lot size can be adjusted during recovery if needed

Core Recovery Process:

Step 1. Position Hedging

When activated, the bot's first action is to hedge the volume of losing positions. This creates a protective counter-position that effectively locks the current drawdown, preventing further losses on the original trade.

For example, if there's a losing EUR/USD buy position of 0.05 lots, the bot automatically opens a 0.05 lot sell position on EUR/USD.

Step 2. Recovery Orders

After establishing the hedge, the bot initiates recovery positions using one of two algorithmic approaches:

Safety Tips

Unlike other EAs on the market, Forex Recovery Bot is unique in the sense that when the bot is started, it is already starting at a disadvantage of the account being a losing state. Therefore, it is extra important that we keep safety in mind when using the bot in order to maximize our chance of recovery success. In this section of the guide we will cover the best safety tips which should be noted when using the bot.

Tip 1) Starting Drawdown

The most important factor in recovery success is the starting drawdown that the account is in when recovery is started. The higher the drawdown that the account is in when recovery is started, the harder it becomes to recover. Therefore, we suggest starting recovery before the account reaches greater than 40% drawdown. The bot can still of course recover drawdown if it's greater than 40% (which we have demonstrated in our YouTube video series ) however it just means that there is more risk and more conservative recovery settings should be used.

What is Positive Grid?

Positive Grid is an advanced feature in Forex Recovery Bot that enhances the traditional recovery grid system by allowing more dynamic trade placement. This feature can potentially accelerate the recovery process of losing positions.

How It Works

Traditional Grid Behavior

In a standard recovery grid:

New orders are only added when price moves against your position
Example: In a sell grid, new orders are only placed when price moves upward
This creates a more conservative trading pattern

Positive Grid Behavior

With Positive Grid enabled:

New orders are placed regardless of price direction
Example: In a sell grid, orders will be placed both when:

Price moves up (against your position)
Price moves down (in your favor)
